Campaigning at Beautiful Battery Park in the City of New Castle

Today, campaigning at beautiful Battery Park in the City of New Castle. Had a great time meeting people enjoying this gorgeous weather. Interesting, about fifty people of all ages were gathered throughout the park, intently focused on their phones. New to me, it turns out, almost all were playing the new "Pokemon Go" game. Two gentlemen in their 30's showed me how the game worked. Wow! It appears this free app Pokemon Go game is a huge hit.

Fourth of July Parade in Hockessin with Vice President Joe Biden

In the Fourth of July Parade in Hockessin with Vice President Joe Biden this afternoon. What a wonderful surprise and honor! I'm grateful for the many wonderful people I had the opportunity to meet today celebrating our nation's freedoms. As the mother of a US Marine, I know first-hand the sacrifices we make for the freedoms we enjoy every day. Today, I thank you, the many friends that made a special effort to give hugs and who enthusiastically shouted out your support. Thank you, to the many people who displayed our campaign signs the length of the parade route. Thank you, to the many who took the time to thank us for running for the office and tell us they will be voting for Karen Hartley-Nagle on September 13th. An amazing day. Working together, we will make a difference in New Castle County. A very special, thank you, to Mr. McGrellis for lending us his mint condition, 1941 Cadillac Convertible.

Last Day of Session at Legislative Hall

At Legislative Hall for a long last day and evening of Session with daughter Cammie. What a whirlwind of a day and a landmark day for women. Governor Jack Markell signed a series of bills regarding pay equity and other women's issues. "Lilly Ledbetter, an Alabama woman whose fight for equal pay led to Congress passing a 2009 law that bears her name, was the featured guest at Thursday's bill signing ceremony. One new law makes it illegal for employers in Delaware to prohibit employees from talking about how much they are or their co-workers are paid. Another reinforces the right to workplace privacy regarding reproductive health care decisions, while a third prohibits employers from discriminating against workers based on their obligations as family caregivers. Markell also signed bills ensuring that sexual violence victims on college campuses are told of their rights and legal options, and that health care providers give patients information about post-partum depression" reported WDEL 101.7 FM.
